The Birth of Karpos Family Ministry

In 2019, God began stirring something deep in the hearts of Pastors Jonathan and Alisa Jerkins—a stronger, more focused call toward family ministry. Though the details were unclear, the burden was undeniable. They continued to seek God’s heart, praying for clarity, direction, and timing. As that sense of calling intensified, they remained obedient to the Spirit’s leading, even without knowing when, where, or how.

Then in 2021, the Holy Spirit gave a clear prompting: it was time to begin. On August 22, 2021, Pastors Jonathan and Alisa held the first Karpos Family Ministry service in their home, stepping out in faith and marking the official beginning of this Spirit-led journey. Shortly afterward, the ministry moved to Roberts Park, where we continue to gather today; committed to building a church community rooted in God’s presence and purpose.

Why “Karpos”?

A Vision for Spiritually Fruitful Families

The name Karpos comes from the Greek word καρπός, meaning “fruit.” In Scripture, karpos is often used to describe the evidence of a life truly connected to God—spiritual fruit produced by abiding in Christ. Jesus said, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit” (John 15:5).

This image of fruitfulness perfectly captures the heart behind Karpos Family Ministry. We believe God desires for individuals and families to not just believe—but to bear. To bear the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23), to cultivate godly character, and to walk in strength and holiness that reflects His nature.

Our Mission

The mission of Karpos Family Ministry is to encourage, comfort, and challenge both believers and non-believers to adopt a lifestyle that reflects the character, strength, and holiness of God. Through authentic fellowship, intentional discipleship, and Spirit-led gatherings, we are committed to seeing families grow in Christ and bear fruit that remains—fruit that transforms homes, communities, and future generations.
